Baby Girl Mini Album

Last week I did a fun little photo shoot of my lil baby girl, and well, I had been meaning to do it for QUITE awhile now, but kept putting it off. But, I needed to make a mini album for a Practical Scrappers assignment, so I knew this was the perfect kick in the pants to get me going. I had ordered these Teresa Collins papers quite awhile ago, knowing that I would one day do a baby girl mini...

So here is how my mini turned out, you can check it out at Practical Scrappers HERE along with some other fun minis.

As you can see I decided to go with pink, white, black..... had to add lots of bling, some fun girlie trim, felt AC accent embellies, and hearts and flowers.
I haven't made an actual mini album in ages, so I had ALOT of fun making this.. I think I'm going to have to make some more soon!!!!
Thanks so much for checking it out, and hope you had a super FAB day!!!!

Thanks Sew Much

Up on the Practical Scrappers blog, there are several projects that focus on using sewing notions on your projects. I remember, back in the day, when I had home ec in 7th grade and was sooo excited to start sewing. My projects never turned out perfect, but I enjoyed the class. Later in high school, I took a year long sewing class and made some pretty cool things. We even had a fashion show with the items that we created and made.

Here is my sewing notions card. I used an old school Cosmo Cricket line that was focused on sewing:
I dressed up my maniquin with some frilly trim to create a skirt:
I also added twine to the spool of thread and the needle:
And of course, I machine sewed on my card...

Hope you have a wonderful day!!!!

Day 179: Super Sketchy Sunday

Wow!!!! this was a super fast week, and I can not believe Sunday is here and all ready to go for a new week.
Pam has a wonderful new sketch to use to get your card mojo pumping and ready to go today at 365 Cards challenge blog.
Here is Pam's sketch for this week:
And here is my take on the sketch:
This week our sponsor is DRS Designs, and I used one of their fabulous stamps, the Happy Birthday 3" giga circle stamp.. how cool and fun is this one????
I punched circles and added some birthday rub ons onto each of them.

Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch!!!
Don't forget to stop by the other DT's blog and see their super sketchy sunday work:

Hope you have a wonderful week!!!!!!

Boys Rule

I found this picture of Jeremy with the kids that was just sooo sweet. It was taken as the kids were getting ready for bed for the night, and sitting all together. It melts my heart. Over at Boys Rule. I used a cool sketch from 8/3 post for my page. I also used Echo Park's For the Record 2 Documented. totally lovin that line and it's soooo fun!!! the colors are stunning!!!!

Here's my page:
I mixed up my title with different alphas and numbers too:
I used two colors to mist with, a green and a muted pink, but I think it works well with the color scheme:
Topped off the page with washi tape and some sewing:
I also played along My Scraps & More daily challenge 8/23 to use stitching- easy peasy for me, and my sewing machine was being nice and sewing properly, sometimes it acts up and it is naughty..LOL

For my second page, I used the Boys Rule 8/17 sketch. It's a photo of Austin and his two cousins, that stayed with us for a few days over spring break, and we took them to lunch. We went to Frontier Wok a FAVE Chinese place with some of the BEST orange chicken. It's near Jeremy's work, so they also got to pop in and see where he works at and what all goes on there. I used  Echo Park Note To Self for the page.
I added each boys name on a number strip:
Added some doodles to the sticker strip, and these metal blings have been quite the FAVE thing of mine to use lately, perfect for guy pages:
Can't forget to add the fun arrow and cute lil man sticker:
also played along with My Scraps & More daily challenge 8/9 challenge use tags. I cut out and used several of the tags from the paper sheet and used them throughout the page.

Hope you have a SUPER fab Saturday!!!!!!

Sketches in Thyme #88

Hooray for another 2 page sketch from Tiffany this week over at Sketches In Thyme to get your mojo a going... I have really been enjoying a monthly 2 pager to make myself stretch. It's a whole different concept from one pagers to a 2 pager, but I do love getting a ton of photos onto the pages.

These photos were taken at Easter time, and all the families that were there, minus one (and missing 4 cousins) all the other cousins are pictured here.. yes so that makes quite a few grandkids for my parents.. 14 and counting..
Here is sketch #88:
Here is the left side:
And the right side:
And just a few of the details from the page:
I used Echo Park's mini collection: Homemade for this page. The colors were not the typical Easter colors, but were perfect for a family page.
Hope you play along, and work that 2 pager!!!!

1st Day of School

The first day of school was just on Wednesday. I took pictures and couldn't help but print one out that day!!! The kids looked extra cute, with new clothes, excited smiles, and the anticipation was just bursting out from them for the new day. Both kids had on outfits that they picked out, and couldn't wait to wear.

I played along with the latest challenge from Scrapbook Circle #37 gallery lift, using the August kit for my layout, the colors were bright and fun, just like the kids outfits. I choose to lift a layout from Elizabeth HERE. and this is what I came up with:
I added a fun banner underneath the photo for some dimension:
Got messy with some misting:
And added a handmade flower and a couple of brads:
I also played along with the daily My Scraps & More 8/16 challenge. It was a bingo challenge- my line I choose was 1 photo, flower, twine and brads.
Here is to many more 1sy day of school scrapped photos....

Hi Card

Got one more card to share with you today. I made a simpler card with Echo Park's Note To Self line. Added some fun stitching and came up with this little card guy.
Punched out the circles from the patterned paper and added them along with strip:
I played along with the Freshly Made Sketch # 49:

And also this card went to a the 8/19 daily card challenge at My Scraps & More to use circles and polka dots. These were the perfect papers for it.
Have a great night!!!!

Green is Simple

ok so I tried the simple, clean card things... all I can say is wow!!!! that is soooo much harder than I imagined!!! hard to get it to line up perfectly, look amazing, and be a wonderful card. Don't think I achieved that, but this is super clean for me!!! I have the worst time trying to get things just right.. I hate to measure, and line things up.. I am sooo bad at it..
But here is my clean card:
This card has the bare minimal: washi tape, bling and a stamp... the stamp is a MME stamp from the Sweestest thing Bluebell line, that I won as a prize from My Scraps & More, I LOVE the chevron.....
I played along with CASology#7: Green:
And with City Crafter challenge blog: Wishi Washi. The challenge: use Washi or Tissue tape on your projects ...but there is a catch ..you are only allowed to use 2 other items on your projects!
So there you have it.... clean and simple...

Reese's Peanut Butter cake

ok so those of you who know me know that I LOVE peanut butter and chocolate.. it's like one of the BEST food combos ever!!! seriously, I love it..
Since my birthday was coming up, I started looking around on pinterest for a cake to make.and yes, from scratch.Of course I am totally drawn to anything with chocolate, and then add in some peanut butter, and then add in some Reese's and I'm totally there.
So I saw this cake on pinterest:
And thought... k I am going to attempt this.
So I started making the cake from scratch. I had my trusty Kitchen Aid mixed to help me out. Seriously, I have NO idea what I would do without that thing.
I poured the dough into two 8" cake pans and baked:
Then I made the icing for the cake, a peanut butter icing:
I iced the cake and then added some of the DARK Reese's peanut butter cups, cut in half so that they would stick better:
Next, here is where I went a bit on the crazy side... I took the chocolate glaze from this recipe that I made from Sydney's birthday cake. The only downside, is that you cook the glaze, and then it's warm to poor onto the cake, so it kinda landed funny.

Yes then you add cut up pieces of Reese's peanut butter cups on top... cuz apparently there was enough peanut butter and chocolate, and then you put the cake in the fridge so the chocolate glaze can set up.
Here is the final cake, after sitting in the fridge:
And here is what the inside looks like. The cake is actually NOT super rich, and kinda like a white cake with chocolate chip cake flavor... it was realllly good. The icing made it amazing.. and the day after, the cake tasted JUST as good!!!
And yes I high recommend serving it with vanilla bean ice cream!!! it is perfect.

I'm linking it up with the Pinterest Project Linky  Party #5

 seriously.. it is GOOD!!!!!!
