We R Young & Fun

One of the favorite songs in our car right now is We R Young by Fun!!! The kids love it, I love it, it's super catchy and easy and fun to sing along with. So when I saw that this challenge was up for Scrap It With a Song's challenge, I just couldn't resist and play along.

I grabbed this photo of the kids back from October 2010 when we took the kids into Jeremy's work and said hi while on a trip to Cali at the time:
I used the July Scrapbook Circle kit for this page and went crazy with colors and patterns, mixing and matching them.
I cut out lots of hexagons and then used some pop dots to add some dimension on the page:
then I also added lots of machine stitching on the fake "stitches" on the sunrays, cut out the star, and then sewed on it, and then used pop dots to lift it up also:
I also played along with My Scraps & More 7/13's challenge sketch for the day...

Hope you've had a great day.. and enjoy your evening....

Sweet Cheeks & Stickles....

One thing I remember going crazy and buying was TONS of Stickles!!! Yet the funny thing is that I ended up using them only here and there for projects.. Lately I have felt the need to revisit my Stickles and start using them again!!! And it's nice because I can close the office door and walk away and let them dry and no one bothers it..

Today up on the Practical Scrappers blog there are 10 fun ideas to do with Stickles or Gems..
Here is my example of using Stickles on a project:
I used Stickles and LOTS of different colors to add centers for my flowers, and some glittery shine to the page. For some of the flowers I filled them in, other flowers I just dotted the centers:
More colored Stickle flowers. I also created my own chevron pattern with cut out strips and then doodled the edges, and then added machine sewing across the center:
Then on top of that, I added little tiny green Stickle dots to the flower centers on the pattern paper to add some texture:

So what are you going to do with your Stickles??????

American Girl

ok, Ok, OK... I know I need to stop blogging today... LOL!!!! last one for today... promise...

I just couldn't resist getting a page done, I just had time for one and it came together pretty quickly.
My little sleeping pea.....
she melts my heart every time she falls asleep in my arms, and I just get to hold and cuddle her. I can NOT get enough of it at all.. There's even her lil chub peaking out of the sleeper... :)

Lots of layers here... paper, distressing, washi tape and some punched paper.. I think I got it all.
And a tad bit of machine sewing on the pennants:
This page went towards a couple of challenges:
Scrap the Girl- black, white and one color.. I used a VERY non typical girlie color for this page of my little baby girl (aqua)
Scrap it With a Song: American Girl for the title
and My Scraps & More 7/23 lift challenge.

K. I won't be back till tomorrow.. promise... Happy Monday Night....

GCD: Baby Mobile

Today up on the GCD blog....

This is one project that I have been meaning to do for quite awhile. When we bought our sweet lil girl's bedding (she is 6 months ), I never found a cute mobile that I liked. I thought I can just make one later. The colors of her bedding are green, brown, cream and a pop of aqua blue. I knew the Bonjour collection was perfect to create her own baby mobile for her crib.
So here is the baby mobile that I created for her room:

It was really fairly easy to do, once I got all my supplies together. I pulled the papers I was going to use and then grabbed some other crafting supplies for the project. The wooden holder is actually the top of a birdhouse that I found at the crafting store, but I just used the top portion of it.
Next, I cut out all my circles and lined them up and added the stretchy cord down center of the circles. I glued them down to secure them onto the stretchy cord.
Next I took the hot glue gun and made large blobs of hot glue and placed the strips of stretchy cord with the circles and placed one on each corner of the wooden house top. I wanted to use alot of glue to make sure they were secure, and nothing came loose and fell on my lil sweetheart. I even added a butterfly to the center to give her something to focus on from her angle.
Then I finished off the project with randomly adding several butterflies that I either punched out or cut out. I also added some stars with red and pink, to just add a bit of contrast to the project. Normally I would add bling, but I stayed away from using smaller pieces that may come loose, and I wanted to avoid any chocking hazards possible.
And waaahhhh-laaa.. Here's the finished project from her perspective:
This is something that could not only be used for a baby crib, but as an accent in any child's room.

Supplies:
Paper- Bonjour Collection: Conjour, Cafe Mosaic, Les Fleurs, Ooh La La, Butterfly Flutter.
Paper- Country Charm: Super Star

Other Supplies: wooden lid from birdhouse, jewelry stretchy cord, paint, glue gun with hot glue, pop dots, butterfly and star punches.

Billy Goat's Gruff

I found some of the cutest photos from last October when we went to Disneyland, they had a live animal area and the kids just had to check it out.. And these lil guys were just the cutest, I couldn't resist a few photos..
Billy Goats Gruff:
I used my Scrapbook Circle July kit for this page.. sooo lovin the combo of papers and goodies in the kit!!! I used a colorful journaling spot and added a bit of bling and twine:
Doodling with some pennants and sewing:
And then used the leftover triangles to add a bit more dimension on the page:
I used this sketch from Jojorenee's challenge on her blog, the sketch is from Sketch Savvy... At first it was a bit stumped on how to use it, but I laid my paper on it's side on my desk, and did a double take and decided to flip the sketch!!! and I loved it:

I also played along with Ginni's 7/24 challenge at My Scraps & More- to use a photo that is more than six months old and that includes an animal.. got it!!!

Happy Saturday!!! hope you enjoyed yours, as much I enjoyed mine!!!!

5th Grade... not only did I have a 5th grader, but now he has graduated and he is actually my 6th grader now!!! ACK!!! time is going waaaay too quickly in our household. These pictures were taken on the first day of school last September, and can't believe we are already a month away back to starting school again!!!
I played along with the MME 6.23 sketch challenge. I used the Indie Chic 6x6 pad for my page, along with some matching embellies.. and pulled a few from Follow your Heart collection.. Two of my faves I have to say...
I am STILL so in love with chevron so I can't resist adding them to the page:
I punched some stars out and added some layers:
Check out that cute lil guy.. though not much of a lil guy anymore, he is sure growing tall fast. That was his new school shirt, that I personally just loved!! (gotta love Shawn White clothing from Target)
Thanks so much for stopping by.... Hopin your having a super FAB day!!!

Go Fish...

Yup, as in the game.. but yet not exactly...
The newest challenge is up at the Child's Play Challenge blog.. this week the challenge of choice to be inspired by is Go Fish!!! This was a card game I think ALL children love to play, me included.
I grabbed a photo from the last time that we went to the Long Beach Aquarium.. totally one of my most FAVE places to go. I am just in awe of gorgeous salt water fish, corals, and sea life. I could spend all day there, or go there every day.
Here's my page:
I used an all time fave oldie line for this page.. Cosmo Cricket Salt Air line.. I loved it cuz it had to do with the ocean!!! of course..
Got some misting action going on with a large wave and sprinkles of bling:
Also just love this cute lil starfish cutie:
and here are all those pretty fish in the background:
Here is the Child's Play inspiration to play along with:

July Issue of The Paper Cut

oh wow... for some reason, I didn't post this.. but then I looked at the date and it was right in the middle of the move, no internet, and some chaos... LOL... so better late then never

Here is the July Issue of the Paper Cut magazine from GCD!!!! you have to check out ALL the amazing inspiration going on inside....

Here is the layout that I have in the magazine under the stripes section. The photo is of my cute lil nephew Crew, taken at our family Easter hunt:
I choose several papers to make my own background "stripes". Then I layered them in staggering sizes so that your eyes would work down the page. All the colors match lil Crew's shirt for that extra pop of color.
I made my title out of the cute scrabble alphas:
And then added a few extras stars and doodled on them:
With just a touch of twine and buttons to "boy up" the page:
Supplies: paper: Splendor line: Pink Flora, Navy Flora, Candytuft, Woven cheveron, Labels & Tags, Letter Tiles
Other: Twine, Buttons, Distress Ink, Bling, Sharpie Pen
