Craft Gossip
I was excited that my chevron misting tutorial got picked out on Craft Gossip HERE... Just wanted to share.. I'm hoping to actually get some time to scrap soon, it feels like it's been forever, it's just been WAY too busy around here and I need a crafty break.. But looking at the calender for the week, there's just not a whole lot of extra time going on around here:( hopefully soon.

Here's the sketch:
And I actually made two cards this week... I know I went card crazy... LOL.. but I was sooo excited to try out some cool digi papers and give them a whirl!!!! I also used some SRM sticker sentiments, that was a sponsor for 365 Cards a few weeks ago.
One card using the sketch straight up:
and the other card, using the sketch on it's side:
This week's sponsor is a former 365 Cards DT member, Heidi and she sponsoring the week with her gorgeous digi papers, you can check them out in her etsy shop HERE.
I used the lovely Beachy Chic pack... I know beachy chic... totally me!!! LOL!!!
how about hoping over to see

Sketches in Thyme #79
I have to say, I just LOVE that Sketches in Thyme does a double pager once a month, because it really makes those pages with TONS of photos I have from an advent or occasion to get them all out on a layout. I have really enjoyed getting back to some 2 pager layouts...
So.... here is the latest 2 pager that I have gotten done. The photos were from the 500 episode party of the Simpsons, my hubby's work, and it was QUITE the party. Totally in downtown Hollywood, a few celebs, and talk about amazing food... It was the perfect get out date night, esp just having Chorley two months earlier.. really it was my first night back out on the town.
Here is the sketch #79:
And here is the left page:
and the right side:
Hope you play along and maybe bust out a 2 pager too!!!!

Child's Play: Friendship Bracelets
One thing I remember from being a kid are those friendship bracelets that everyone had, made out of some kind of twine or heavy thread. You would trade them, make them for a friend and just wear as many as you could on your arm. This week the challenge over at the Child's Play Challenge blog is ALL about Friendship Bracelets... whether you actually make or use an actual friendship bracelet, use twine on your page, make your layout about friends or just pull the colors from the inspiration photo, it's all up to YOU!!!
Here is my page. I used the theme of FRIENDS for my title, added some twine to represent the bracelets, and then even used a friendship poem on the page:
I used a photo of my daughter and one of her favorite best friends from last year, Ariana. Those two were the cutest friends!!! Since we moved, Sydney misses her tons. I used some AC Dear Lizzy for my page.
Here is the inspiration photo to pull from:
I even used the Friendship poem that I used in Girl Scouts sooo long ago, "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other is gold"
I also added a fun banner and twine:
Hope you play along and maybe break out those old friendship bracelets!!!!

How to Make Your Own Chevrons with Misting Tutorial
I know I never do tutorials, but I was thinking the other day I should. When I made my misting layout for the ScrapFIT challenge, I wanted to do a chevron print misting, but I didn't have one of the chevron templates so I thought I would make my own.
So here's what I did first to make my own chevron template..
First I took a piece of actual chevron paper, this one is from the Echo Park Boy's Life collection and then cut out the chevron pattern that I wanted to use for the misting itself:
Next, I layed out my chevron pattern and taped them down so that they wouldn't move while I was misting away:
Once I had the template in place, I misted with my light pink. I really LOVE the Mister Huey mists, only because they dry super fast and my page isn't totally warped at the end:
Then I took my magenta mist and sprayed onto of the first color to give it more of a kick. I also misted my flowers to make sure they matched the page.
After I had my misting done, I removed my template and was left with my chevron pattern:
Then I started adding my papers, embellies and all the fun details:
So the final result of the page looked like this:
wooo hooo... quick and easy, do it yourself chevron template... I would LOVE to see one if you try it, so make sure you link it up in the comments and I would LOVE to see your take and check it out!!!

Solar Eclipse
Yesterday, 5.20.12 was a solar eclipse. Our family was sooo excited, and we had it on the calender since we found out about it. Jeremy was super pumped and got the kids excited over it too. They've been looking forward to it also. Jeremy also crafted a pinhole projector to see the eclipse. We used it at first, but by the time we got down to the beach the fog had rolled in, so we actually got to see it with our naked eye!!! kinda cool, but towards the end, we weren't able to see it all the way through, because of TOO much fog that was coming in, that was kinda a bummer.
Here are some pics from the eclipse, this first one is with the pinhole projector, which worked really cool:
These next photos are of the eclipse, NONE of them are altered at all, down at the beach:
I have to say, it was realllly cool to watch it all happening. Here are a few more of the ending of the eclipse and it on the way out:

Love
Ok, this is still one of my favorite pictures, really truly one of my FAVE pictures taken. Chorley is not even quite a month old, and I finally have my first photo of me and my 3 babies together...
I played along with the ScrapRoom blog starter page layout challenge, I used my April kit.. I just ADORE the MME, and those hexagons.. sooo pretty!! the colors... yum.. ok, enough scrappy drooling.
Next I added some fun embellies... flowers, buttons, bling, ribbon trim and a bit of washi tape...
I also played along with my good scrappy buddy Lisa's challenge for the My Scraps & More Mother May I crop.. it was to choose a bingo row, and I choose bling, 4 PP, flowers and brad. got it.
Hope you have a wonderful Saturday.. we are off to the Armed Forces Day Parade, which is a BIG thing around here, and something I LOVED going to as a kid. My kids are pumped and their cousins are here for the special day... should be lots of fun, and a BBQ in the future!!!Friday, May 18, 2012
Pink Hair
I LOVE crazy hair day at school, and the kids love it too. This year we went pretty fun. Sydney went super girlie and pink, I let them pick out their own color and then I added some fun little little ponytail buns on top... so here are some of the pictures that we took from Crazy Hair Day this past fall:
I used the sketch from The Scraproom Blog sketch and used the April kit, which has some super cute Jillibean Soup in it. I soooo love the limes in this line too.. I added some pink and green misting on the yellow page.
I also played towards the precrop challenge at My Scraps and More. It was a recipe challenge: Pattern paper background- which is sooo hard for me to do, I almost 99% of the time use cardstock, paint or mist, bling, 2 or more photos, and yellow as a primary color...
Check out that fun hair!!!
Hope you are having a great weekend!!!! TGIF!!!

Two Pages
Well I finally got a bit of scrappin time the other day and got a couple pages done just for fun.
This one is of Austin trying on some fun hats at Disneyland, both of the hats were from Nightmare Before Christmas.. we LOVE how the Haunted House is decked out at Halloween and Christmas at Disney.. it's one of my MOST FAVE rides and we all enjoy it.
I used Lisa's sketch from the My Scraps and More Mother May I? crop going on right now:
I always LOVE to scrap Halloween and so it was fun to get some Halloween papers and goodies out to play with
This for this layout, I scraplifted a fun page from Tonya in the gallery and came up with my take on it:
A picture of Chorley from back in January.. I can't believe how much she has grown!!!!
I also used a fun doily from the Prima packaging too:
So that's what I've gotten done... how about you?
