Sweet Love

I found these sepia pics of Sydney and Jeremy from when Sydney was 6 months old. I can't believe how big she is now. She was such a gorgeous baby, so sweet, extra long lashes, adorable pigtails and so chubby cheeked and cuddly. Such a good baby. She has grown up so fast and is still just as sweet and gorgeous.... I am in sooo much trouble with her...

Austin's Last BB Game

I don't know if you can tell, but Austin is totally excited about receiving his metal from his Basketball end of the season award. He did great tonight and was really on his game. He is just so excited to be out on the court, took some good shots and even passed the ball... he's working on the that. His dribbling has definitely improved and we just love going to the games to watch him. Great job little buddy....

Bitter Sweet.... Kindergarten Registration

This is Sydney's picture from her first day of preschool this year, which is one of my faves. This morning I went and registered her for kindergarten!!! Oh my gosh, where has all that time gone, it has just flown by, and I can't believe that my baby is going to actually be starting kindergarten, aka Big Kid School. I know that she is more than ready and can't wait to go. I know she is also so smart and artistic and will love all the fun projects that she will do in class. But I can't believe what a hard time I am having, and she hasn't even started yet!!! I thought how nice it will be to have both kids in school and gone. I thought how wonderful it will be not have to worry about what are we going to do today. But all in all, I am sooo sad, since now my baby will be in school everyday from now on. I always thought that I would of had another baby by now, and for the circumstances, hasn't happened it. I guess it comes with the sacrifice of leaving California for a better opportunity for our family, or having a house- more space, a more kid friendly area, and also some other benefits. But in doing that, we sacrificed a bit of job security and also health insurance with Jeremy being self employed. So my heart is full right now, wondering what the future holds and if we will ever have that one more baby I was hoping to have. But I am excited to see the kids growing up and doing so well in their lives, in that aspect I am truly blessed....

My Fave New Page... MY HEART

I just made this page about Sydney the other day and am really happy how it turned out. These photos were taken last summer at the breakfast table and they are just so Sydney, so her. I used barely any supplies but was excited with the result... My kids are truly "my heart," I am sooo blessed to have 2 beautiful children, with adorable personalities, who make me smile everyday...

Austin's Basketball Game...

Here are some photos from the last basketball game that we went to of Austin's. He loves being on the court, shooting the ball, and gets so excited when he makes a basket. This game he made the first basket of the night for his team, and also assisted the second basket. He was in heaven!!! The last photo is of him and James, his best little buddy.

FLASHBACK....Updating some old Scrap Pages

Well when I first started scrapbooking lets just say I wasn't that good and my pages were far less than perfect too. So at Serendipity Scrapbook's crop there was a fun challenge that you had to go back and re-do an old scrapbook page. So I did one, and then I couldn't stop and re did a bunch of pages back from when Jeremy and I were dating and engaged, kinda fun looking at the old pics and how "good" I used to look... So this was fun and now I am going to try and redo a few more pages, I just wish I had some better pictures.....

Fun Family Photos

Tonight was Austin's Basketball game and after the game we just took some fun pics of the family. I will have to upload the ones from the game tomorrow. As you can see the kids are feeling much better and back to their silly selves- which makes me a happy mommy. As you can see, Sydney talked her cousin Bailey, into stamping on her forehead a bright PINK stamp... yeah that's great.... oh well we had fun tonight.

SA Blog Challenge

At Scrapattack Scrapbooking's BLOG, Lauri posted a very hard challenge for me- Use at least 5 photos on ONE page!!! WOW I'm lucky if I can get 3, and that is pushing it. Took me awhile to think over what I was going to do and then found the perfect pics of the sunset at Hermosa Beach, CA from when we were visiting in Sept 07. Plus was sooo excited to use it with the new 3 Bugs Island PPs!!! Perfect, so I actually fit 6 pics on the one page!!! WOW, that is a record for me.

The pages of Austin and Sydney are part of my DT projects for Scrapattack and got to play with the SEI Jolie Chocolat line and the Scrapworks Love In Bloom line and the new Shimmer Shapes which are super yummy- full of glitter and bling!!! Yummy......

The Writers Strike Ends

Well this is the BEST news that I have had in a LOOOOOOOOONG time!!!! We have been following the news so closely, and Jeremy has been reading every blog, news story, and talking with people from back home, to keep up with what's going on. This of course has affected Jeremy's work and are glad to say... IT'S OVER!!!! I have been sooo overly stressed and a stomach in knots and just glad to have something to look forwards to. I literally have felt like I've been falling apart and just a complete mess. So if you saw a blank face with stress written all over it, then you know why. If I ignored you, I didn't mean to, just got too much on my mind and couldn't stop thinking. I just wasn't seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and having a hard time with hope as the longer it went on for. It also really sucked leaving the kids to go to work and wishing I was with them at home. but so far it's been ok, and today, EVEN better!!! It will still be a few weeks till he is officially back, but glad that things are back in progress!!!!

And I've missed a few of my fave shows too!!!!LOL

What have We been Up to....

Well this last week and a half have been not the greatest weeks!!! And probably one of the worst that we've had in a long time. First Jeremy got the flu, then Austin came home from school sick- having that really bad flu/ cold thats going around, on top of a mild ear infection and some eye yuckies. Then two days later, Sydney caught what Austin had and they have both been miserable ever since. Poor babies, it has been soooo hard to watch them be so sick, I wish I could just take it away and make them better in a second. I can't remember the last time that we've stayed in the house so long, not gone barely anywhere, and watched so many movies..... Hopefully the doctor said they should be coming out of it and on the mend.....

Scrap Friendzy Sketch

I used the sketch over at Scrap Friendzy and made this fun layout of one of Austin's favorite parts of the day... riding the bus to school. He loves the bus.... In fact, when I come to help at school, he won't even drive home with me, or even take his backpack... He has to make the daily commute to school ONLY on the bus!!! One of his simple joys of the day.....

Scrap Friendzy Girlfriend of the Month

I found a really fun blog with challenges and last month they posted a contest where you LO had to show layouts about goals, the new year, year in review ect. So I entered my Goals for the new year layout, and have the privilege of being selected as the "Girlfriend of the Month"!!!!! SOOOO excited, so they posted a couple of my layout and a blurb about me so check it out here: Scrap Friendzy ....

Wild On Wendi Challenges @ Scrapattack Scrapbooking

As a DT member at Scrapattack Scrapbooking I have a bi-weekly challenge called Wild on Wendi challenges where I come up with fun and creative ways to get your scrappy juices flowing. The last challenge was posted on Friday and called "Making Color Pop".... where you would select your photos and then use the colors in those photos to select your cardstock, papers, and embellishments to accent those colors. In the layout below of my cut little nephew Ryder, I used the blue from his eyes for my base cardstock, and then took the red from his shirt and hair and used "pops" of it throughout the page.

The other challenge is a weekly challenge, that I switch off with coming up with the ideas to alter Rolodex cards. This time it's inking in more than one colors- in my example below I used both pink and black to ink and add richer depth.

My Kids Love to Create Too...............

On Friday, I pulled out some things to start scrapbooking, and by the way I got NOTHING done... But both Austin and Sydney came in the room and asked to scrapbook also. At first I thought oh no you are going to mess up my stuff. But then I remembered that I want to encourage artistic ability and the joy in crafts, so I went and got stuff out for both of them to create what ever they wanted to. They each got their own, papers, glue stick, photos, some embellishments, and deco scissors to go crazy with and this is what they each came up with--- they are sooo cute and I am SUPER proud of them too!!!!

Man of Faith and Example

Gordon B Hinckley
Well I've been putting of updating my blog, since I knew I wanted to and need to posted about this, but knew how completely emotional I would become while writing. All I can say, is that I am so grateful to be alive at this time this man was called to serve as a prophet. He was such an amazing man, a true example of perfection, a man with a GREAT sense of humor, and a man who loved life- and his wife- what a terrific example of a true and loving husband, and someone who truly emulated the Savior in all his actions. I was saddened by the news of his passing, but at the same time knew he had lived a full and marvelous life- what more can you ask for? I am grateful for the standards and example he set and someone to strive to be like. We watched the funeral together as a family, and of course I couldn't help but shed a couple of tears, but I know he did what he needed to in his lifetime and was called home. Austin had a really hard time with it, he watched the funeral and at the end just started crying, and crying alot. He is such a sentimental little guy, I asked him what was wrong and he said " I'm sad, I'm not scared, I'm just going to miss him." Take it from a 6 year old who knows how to explain things simply. And yes Austin, I do feel the same way....
