Look who showed up at my door.... AGAIN!!!!/ Crazy Hair Day...

Look who came back!!!!! That little Merry Maid from last week, showed up at my door and started cleaning again!!! I was at work today and on the way home I was talking to Jeremy and he said he had some pics to show me, and I wouldn't never have guessed what they were.
So I don't know who added what to do the water... it MUST be ALL that snow we are having. But I was sooo happy and almost tearful when I came home from a kinda longer work week to find my house cleaned again, Jeremy and Sydney cleaned it.... thank you guys.

After dinner I went to the bathroom to check on Syd in the bath and THIS little mermaid is what I found swimming in her bath. I couldn't help but start laughing and of course, grab the camera to take some pics.. She didn't even notice me and I started to giggle, just too dang cute!
Today was Crazy Hair Day at school, and Austin had been talking about it all week. They had a food drive and if their class got 100% they got Crazy Hair Day and an extra long recess. So he got up EXTRA early to have me do his hair. First, spikey hair- gel and a blow dryer, then next layer- green hair spray, last layer- blue sparkle glitter... I thought it looked VERY cool and was proud to send him off to school this morning. His friend said he looked like he had grass on his head... 1st graders, what do they know?

Altered Photos.....

So I was kinda playing around in Photoshop to practice altering some photos and this is what I came up with.. just kinda some fun stuff. The top is my original, the second one- filters- sketch- and then under waterpaper. The last photo is under one- black and white is under filters- sketch- and then under photocopy to get that effect. Just something kinda neat to play around with, I wish I had more time to get in there and alter more often, but we need a better printer to print actual photos, what we have isn't set up for that.
Also just a little toot for my hubby, check out his BLOG, he is an AMAZING animator and usually does political cartoon posts like you would find in the paper, but every now and then he throws in one that is about our family, like this one... and it's soo cute, if I say so myself.....

Look!!!! Merry Maids came to MY house....

Ok so I am really excited about these little Merry Maids that showed up to my house yesterday. Austin had begged, I mean begged and wouldn't stop until he got to sweep and mop the kitchen floor. In fact he said to Jeremy " move these chairs in here so I can mop." So who can argue with that one? Then when it was time to vacuum downstairs, the other little Merry Maid came out of hiding- this is the girl who complains she has to make her bad...everyday, and started taking over the vacuum. What a great helper. Then Jeremy made the beds and changed the sheets, what more can I ask for? I have wonderful help right here is my home.....

Well I am walking on cloud 9 today and got some VERY unexpected news. I've been going to Serendipity Scrapbooks for about 1 1/2 yrs now and love the site, esp the Team Challenge and the Daily challenges. Well I've tried out twice for their DT call and didn't make it... This time I almost didn't since I got sick and didn't know if I could finish my entry... Over 30 people tried out and 5 would be picked... Today at work I got on for the announcement and was SHOCKED to see my name as one of the 5 picked.... I am thrilled to be on the team and can't wait to get started... The kits there ROCK.... Just had to share:) Plus there is going to be a fun Bday Crop at their site Feb 8-10th, the crops are a blast!!!

New Year/ New Resolutions/ New Attempts to be a Better Me...

OK.... so I don't really stick to my New Year's Resolutions too well, but I haven't really committed to them all too well either, so that is practically my own undoing. So what do I do? I scrap my thoughts, so I'm scrapping what I would like to accomplish this year too. My main "ME" goals are (oh gosh, if I print them, do I have to commit to them??) are:
1. Exercise, eat better, drink more water, try harder to be better
2. Read. More than just a magazine, read some books and finish them
3. Organize my scrap area, actually put my pages in albums and keep my mess down. (At least it's only one room and not the whole house..)
This page was for the monthly contest at ScrapAttackScrapbooking, so Lauri there gave me the extra boost to actually make my goals and display them...
And most importantly was this second page I did for a challenge, where you hear a word and scrap it. The word is COMMIT... and at first I thought of a picture from our wedding, but then really got thinking and found the photo of me and Syd and the journaling reads:
"Commit. To being the BEST mom I can be, not the perfect mom, just the BEST mom to my kids..."
That is my #1 goal that I will be working on my hardest, so if I only get that one goal done, and I'm not ultra skinny this year, or finish the trilogy, and my scrap pages may never actually see the insides of an album.... at least I know I was there for my kids...and that's all that counts..

Mom, I can do my OWN hair.....

One Saturday Sydney decided that she was going to do her own hair... ok I was fine with that... well after some time, she came out of the bathroom, and apparently Austin was "helping" her too. She literally used EVERY clip, rubber band, ponytail, barrette, anything in her hair box to "do" her hair. Well it didn't stop there, she used ponytails and pulled out every bracelet and piece of jewelry that she owned to decorate her wrists and an anklet or two... I couldn't laugh, she was sooo proud of her "creative" self, I had to give her some credit..Well later we needed to go somewhere, and she left the house- hair, clips, ponytails and all, proud as can be... Just had to take some pics and of course, scrap them.........

Gotta LOVE that Elsie

I just can't get enough of the Love Elsie line. I've used them before and keep going back to it, just has such a fun, funky, fresh kind of style that really livens up my pages, I think... The page of Sydney is the Roxy line, which is soooo adorable, love the pink, green and blue mixes.. And the boy line, Riley worked sooo well with this pic of Jeremy and Austin which I think is a new favorite of mine- their my "Boys"....

Reminisce 4th Challenge #3 "Candy Cane"

Got one last challenge done, with scrap your scraps challenge. Used a mix of the Snow Globe and the new Candy Cane. The reds were perfect for the picture from Sydney's dance recital and hurray, got one more card done for next year... I'm already ahead,,, What a fun challenge.

Reminisce- 4th Challenge #2 "SnowDay"

Did one more of the Use your scraps challenge, and used some more for the Snow Globe line. These were pics of Austin at the first snow of the season. He rushed home from school and played with the very little snow that hadn't melted yet, but he had a blast. I'm really happy with how the Thank U card turned out....

Reminisce- 4th Challenge

Here is my take on the challenge from Reminisce. Use your scraps. I used the Snow Globe line for my layout of Austin last Christmas title "Dec. 25" and then used my leftover scraps to create this fun Christmas card... At least I'm getting started early for next year... I LOVE this line, sooo cute and great for Snow and Christmas pics.

A Classic- Princess Bride

Well today after Austin got home from school we decided to watch a movie with the kids and have some popcorn. We've watched the Princess Bride with them before but its been a long time. So we told Austin there was sword fighting and a pirate and told Sydney there was a beautiful princess. Well, they loved it and Austin thought it was pretty funny too!!! He loved the ROUS's too, he called them rat crocodiles....
I still laugh at all the same parts and totally have it memorized, but it still cracks me up.... a total classic!!! Love this movie... "Inconceivable!!!!", and of course my favorite "not to the death of, to the pain of" and love the description that Wesley describes.
Brings me back to the summer before sophomore year when my cousin, Alise and I literally watched it almost EVERY couple of days, maybe more. But this movie, is still a classic, and one of the greatest of ALL times.....

Lovin the Loveland

Wow another line from Scenic Route that I can NOT get enough of!!! Imagine that, just because I am totally, completely addicted to anything and everything that they come out with, this line from them is NO exception... made a few fun projects the other night with this line. A little Valentines card for Jeremy probably, some pics from Sydney's dance class practice and an adorable pic from the cutest kids in the world, with their new Christmas pj attire... LOVE this line, don't know if I said that, but I'm going to be using it.... again

Mixed Bunch of Rolos

Got working on my rolo swap today and got all caught up.. But these are soo much fun, super easy and quick, plus it's getting me to search out quotes. The first flower one is my "Bling Rolo", the one by it is the "Christmas Rolo" - obvious I think, LOL, the bottom left is my "Chipboard Rolo"- 2 half ovals with covered paper and the inked star, and the last- my fave I think, is the "Fall Theme Rolo" and those Scenic Route papers are soo cute and fun, I'm going to have to bring those out to use again, very soon.....

"Us 4ever"

I made this LO for a contest at Serendipity Scrapbooks (scroll down on the page and you'll see it there too...) with one of Kristen's really adorable kits. Just loved the muted colors and distressed looked of all the items and the felt shapes were tons of fun to play with. I also love Stickles, its a cleanier and easier way to use paint on a LO, but I still let it dry overnight, just to make sure.

These were some pics taken by my lil sis, Katelin of us at Thanksgiving dinner, and glad to have an updated cute pic of me and Jeremy that is recent, since those are far and few.....

Rockin Rolo's

Ok I have gotten totally hooked on these altering these Rolodex cards. I even am in a monthly swap with others. They are fast, fun, quick and easy to make... and they are a snap, don't have to fill up a full page, or use photos... Here is my latest one, and I do a bi-weekly challenge and alternate with another gal, this week my challenge was to use staples on your rolo... So here's mine....

He Loves Me Not

Also made this fun page of a darling picture of Sydney taken in the summer.. we had a mini photo shoot in the backyard and she loved every minute of it... of course, she's a princess. Well I went with the whole, He loves me, He loves me not theme.. with the flower petals being picked off. The only good thing is that I don't have too worry about my little girl being in love yet. Only in love with My little Ponies, Baby Dolls, Princesses, and dance.. So I think I am ok for about 8-10 years, till my hair turns gray and starts falling out.. We'll see right?

Scrapattack DT MME Kiss and Tell line

Just created this fun page with the new My Minds Eye line called Kiss and Tell, with my Scrapattack DT goodies... Just love how fun these papers and embellishments are, plus I actually got to scrap one of my wedding pictures, since my album is still...ummm.. "in progress" that um, someday I will get to. I never wanted to srap any wedding pictures, I wanted to get good first so I didn't mess them up and I know what a huge chore it will be, so I've been putting it off... Well Jeremy and I have come a long way in the over 9 years that we have been married, we don't look as young, a few more wrinkles and pounds, but we are stronger and a better couple then when we started... and that says a lot......

Altered Snowflake Minibook

Here is my super cool altered snowflake book that I just finished up for one of my DT projects over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking- which I have to add it is one of my fave places to hang out at, lots of fun, chattiness, and scrappy challenges- enough to blow your mind. Well I got done this album and was sooo excited at how it turned out.. Here is a link to the rest of the pages and my scrap gallery to check out and see what else I've been up to: My Gallery

Well I finally did it.....

With many pushes, pulls, and some hair yanking... I finally got my blog up and going.. It was my 2007 New Years Resolution and so you can see how good I am at following up and finishing my goals... Well one year later, I am here, bloggin my booty away and good to go....

This year my resolution is to just fit in time to exercise.. Well today I was 1/1.. let's see what happens tomorrow right? I'm hoping to keep with it, so wish me luck and wishing ya all a very Happy New Year...

(May this bloody writers strike end.... hence Jeremy's work to continue.)

Till then.
